Trinity Blood
What is Trinity Blood? Trinity Blood is set 900 years after an apocalyptic war between humans and vampires, following the on-going cold war between the Vatican, which is controlled by the Pope Alessandro XVIII and his Cardenal's Francisco di Medici and Caterina Sforza; and the Empire, which is ruled by the Empress Augusta Vradica. Both are the center of power for both races.
The main character of the story is Abel Nightroad, a kind and gentle traveling priest who acts as one of the Vatican's representatives. But he is not your ordinary priest, he is in fact a member of a special division known as AX, who is controlled by Cardenal Sforza. But behind that gentle smile and clumsy exterior, something completely different lies beneath. Abel is in fact a Crusnik, a vampire who feeds on the blood of other vampires; Despite the fact he needs their blood for strength he refuses to drink it or kill them, and has made a vow to protect humans from all harm.
Upon meeting a nun by the name of Esther Blanchett, a series of events begin to spin into motion as an evil organization known as Contra Mundi looks for a way to wipe out the human race. But seemingly, the person behind this is none other than the one that cast Abel into an eternal sorrow from which he believes he will never be free from.
